Polished concrete floors

Oxide colouring and aggregate exposure mixes are becoming popular in the use of polished concrete as an alternative flooring. Unlike carpet and all the other common flooring materials, concrete flooring does not harbour dust, mites and allergen particles.

The two most common aggregates used in concrete manufacture for polished/exposed aggregate flooring are brown and blue gravels, however the aggregate can be almost anything you like including glass, shells and even fossils. There are several ways the slab can be treated to create a unique surface finish including the addition of oxide colouring and a polished finish or a more natural steel trowelled effect.
